DESCRIPTION
Here is a superb pair of English armorial porcelain dishes made for HENRY WINCHESTER Lord MAYOR OF LONDON. Perfect for any discerning collection. Henry Winchester (1777-1838) was an Alderman ,Sheriff of London then Lord Mayor of London. He was Master of the Worshipful Company of Cutlers, and you can see them pictured in his arms. He married Elizabeth Ayerst and lived in Oakfield Lodge, Hawkhurst, Kent , as well as apartments in London.
Blason crest: In front of a cross crosslet fitched or, a lion passant az., the dexter fore-paw supporting a mascle gu., and pendent from the mouth a double chain of the first.
