Very rare Minton Royal porcelain plate, beautifully painted in the Sevres style with a Ducal crown.
Fine 'Jewelled' decorated gilded border on a rich cobalt ground, above two cherubs or putti.
They flank a pearl studded plaque. A Duke is the highest rank in the British peerage.

  Superbly hand painted, probably by the famous artist, Anton Boullemier from Sevres. Best quality work, for an important service. Impressed 'Minton' date code for 1867. Perfect condition.
 
  Minton produced several services for the Royal family, Queen Victoria, her son, Edward Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandra for their silver wedding, Prince Alfred and Marie Alexandrovna, daughter Alexander II Russia which bears resemblance to this piece, also by Boullemier.
